There are a lot of emotions that coincide with a previous relationship moving on, most of which are selfish ones. Some are, “I’m glad they’re happy, I hope they found someone better than me,” but even that is inherently self-depreciating.
People say I have a lot of expectations, for others, but more intensely for myself. I feel like these expectations are what have gotten me to the point I am today, but having expectations is bad because it creates an image of what you expect in your head and causes you to project an image of what you want onto someone else.
The question now is, how do I stop being everything I’ve ever known, without losing who I am?
And where do I begin?
