Superbugs. Not hyperbole. I don’t think it’ll be nuclear war that gets us, nor will I be around for the worst of climate change to bury me in mud. What I think will get us is the one bacteria that evolves to completely resist our anti-bacterial methods. Once that fella shows up, show’s over for us.
This is the first one for which I actually looked up what a bee looks like. Still didn’t quite get it. They’re a lot fuzzier than I’m drawing them.
Apparently the method to do something like this is called ‘gene drives.’ Something something CRISPR, I dunno.
My day job is setting up cloud storage and collaboration solutions for small businesses. Despite what you may believe, I’ve never once been asked the question ‘whats the cloud?’
I’ve read the articles outlining the doom that awaits us if the bees die off. I once made friends with a bee, no joke, so I can say for certain I will miss them when they’re gone, and not just because it means I’ll probably starve to death.
